Kunstverein Rosenheim

The floor drawings are white painted steel, with the sharp contours of the severe images edged in black. The steel pieces are freely laid on the floor. The ground has obviously become their living space. Clearly defined laws – an inner logic – are behind what we see. The white plates are laid down in relation to one another and fit within depictions of black beams. They form hexagons and pentagons, bridges and paths. Here a field of associations opens up. The work references geometrical constructions from the literature of the renaissance as well as pre-Columbian ornaments. The sculptor looks for and finds secret buildings plan in the shapes. Depictions which partake in the timeless symbols of mankind are revealed.
